Miltassia ? Degarmoara ?
I got this one in '08 at Trader Joe's. Bloom color and markings seem a bit different every year, probably due to cool night temps while spikes are developing ? I do like the color and markings this year better than last.

This grows like a weed, and it's been frustrating that it's only been getting one spike a year, but watering today I saw a new spike starting!

If anyone has an idea of what it's name may be, please do share!

I have a similar NoID. Google Gdlra. Pacific Truffle 'Surrogate Star'. It looks similar. It also reminds me of a Vuylstekeara Cambria hybrid.

By the way, yours is really gorgeous. I love the deeper color than mine which looks identical to that Gdlra. But mine hasn't bloomed since I got it about two years ago from OSH.

Thanks Jane, and thanks for the ID suggestion - that is similar, but I don't know if it's the same lovely either way This one bloomed extremely dark last year, blooms were almost black when they opened, and slowly faded. The color was cool, but obliterated the markings and contrasting lip color - I'm quite happy with the color this year.
Don't give up on reblooming yours - took a couple years before this one spiked again after I got it. I finally stuck it outside where it gets morning light (several hours in summer, but shaded a little before midday). Hope you get yours blooming soon!

I have a noid that I think I've identified with the grex 'pacific lust' that's got some simularities! Wouldn't be surprised if it's pacific something!

Very nice. It definitely looks like a Miltassia or Aliceara. The closest I found was Aliceara Sunday Best 'Toronto'

Some of these such as the clone 'Muffin' are a lot paler but OrchidWiz shows othesr that are pretty close to yours. I think it's a fairly common hybrid also. Just a guess tho as always with a NOID!

The Aliceara does look quite similar, doesn't it?

Whatever it may be, it's an easy grower, and now that it seems it may be willing to give me more than one spike a year, it's definitely a keeper, even without a name. I'd mostly like to have something to call it, even just a genus, tho I know the Onc intergenerics that any with Miltonia and/or Brassia can all look very similar
