First mount (hope it grows well) - Oncidium 'Red Fire'
I bought and mounted an Oncidium Twinkle 'Red Fire' on to a piece of wood from Texas yesterday. It looks really great right now and I hope it grows well. I have moss wrapped around it and its tied down with fishing line.
Should I leave it outside or inside and water it everyday? How do I fertilize it and keep it wet enough?
Looks great on the mount! Nice piece of wood you found! If your weather is warm, it would probably love it outside in strong (but not full) sun. Let is get dry before watering it, you dont want it too wet or it will rot. It could probably use fertilizing once a month very weakly, as the roots can burn easily. If night temps get cool, bring it in the house, and keep it in a east or west facing window. Good luck and good growing!
I was going to spray it when it felt too dry on the outside on the moss and then fertilize it once every two weeks very weak to get it to start growing well.
Thanks for the help.
