Can anyone who grows these give a few tips on culture please? I have read contradictory advice on the internet about sunlight for example - some say yes, others no.
I know there are 2 kinds, miltoniopsis is supposed to be from Columbia with different requirements to the Brazilian species.
One thing that does make sense to me is the comment I read about today's hybrids. Culture is less onerous.
I would like to get tips from a successful grower !

Temperature between 55-80 year round, media moist but not wet and a little higher light than phals.

I'm not sure I am a real successful grower but I have 14 or 16 of them (haven't counted lately). They are the cool growing pansy milts. The trick is to keep them evenly moist at all times, which is easier said than done! I find even if I think I am succeeding at that, their leaves pleat easily so maybe I don't have as good of roots as I should.

They are most happy in winter in my greenhouse which is 65F in the day and 55F at night. They need gentle moving air and good humidity at all times. They have thin leaves and can overheat easily and get spots if too hot and not enough air. I have mine under two HO T5 lights which is about a foot away from their leaf tips. They are in a clear little greenhouse and the light on the outside so it may block some of the light but it is clear plastic. I find they bloom better under this light than with less. They are enclosed like that with the fan and a water tray for humidity. In the summer my greenhouse heats up considerably and I have to move them to a place on the floor and near the air cooling system to keep them cool. I have read it's not that they need to be so cool but just can't take high temps. I do think they are much happier in my cool winter greenhouse tho and maybe catch up on growing where they languish a bit over summer. Hope that helps. One thing I find is that if you are expecting one to bloom, keep checking in between the leaf and the pseudobulb. Often the spike is trying to push up, but gets caught there and needs a little help. Others bloom no problem, but more than one has needed my help with that.

Miltoniopsis phalaenopsis is slightly more warmth tolerant than many of the other species.

It can tolerate temperatures to upwards of 85 F easily, but temperatures should drop significantly at night in order for them to do well in the long run.

If it gets too warm, water with refrigerated water and use a clay pot. Water a bit more frequently than during the cooler months, taking care not to water log the plant.

They can be grown in bright shade to moderately bright indirect light.

When watering, it is about keeping them evenly moist, not drowning them in water or drying them out for days.
