what about the flowering tols you have? aren't they flowering under your care?
Well, if you'd like, I would send you the list of tols I'd like to get rid of. I move to a sunny window apartment next saturday, the 24th.
so give me about one or two weeks until I settle in.
then I will let you know.
How's the weather in Denver now? I know the spring time in the Rockies can be quite unpredictable though.
I have 8 tolumnias of different colors, by the way.
All growing new fans and roots and still not sure what to do as far as transplanting. Roots are all growing out of pots.

Actually I think we spoke about this before.... I remember us arranging a deal and then holding off because of the extreme cold I was experiencing in Colorado, making shipping unsafe. I could be wrong... I'd have to check my private messages!
As for my plants, they are a year or under in my care. I bought them all in spike and have enjoyed them over the last year...getting one or two here and there. So they've been flowering as they came in spike. Now, those spikes have repeatedly flowered for me but I have never grown a new spike.
I'll take a pic of how I'm growing them but believe it or not, I think I may grow mine in sh. My first experiment while not exploding with life, it is growing roots into the reservoir and it is growing.
I'd love love love some fans and divisions from you... I don't care about the color, I love these little orchids. If you see any you like of mine, I'll make a note for when or if I divide mine.

You're right, Ryan. I am too scared to divide them. I haven't even been able to take them out of the little clay pots yet. They are just walking out of the pots. lol
I have two of everything I think. I'll let you know after I move and settle in a new place.

If it helps I am too. Lol I am having a hard time figuring out how to grow my plants though. My environment is so strange and I'm still playing mad scientist with my care of these plants. My first two may not even have any roots but they seem perfectly fine. I may have to bite the bullet and try another sh experiment.

lol
Well, here are what my "set ups" are.
1. Pink N Pretty hanging under a halogen lamp about 7-8 inches below the light. I had it closer to the light before and burned small part of one leaf so I had to adjust a bit. I mist heavily morning and evening. In the past 5 months or so, it grew two new fans, one small and one large, and the large one is spiking now.
2. Two under the fluorescent light in the bathroom quite close, probably like 3 inches underneath it. misting throughout the day. growing two fans each, but no spiking, and new leads are rather slow growing.
3. Neglected group. hehe
A bunch of little guys are sitting by a bright but no sun window. not so frequent misting in fear of rotting in such low light/rather dark/cool conditions. still making some new fans, but small and very slow growing. These are basically in winter sleep, I would say. I don't want to encourage too much growth while I cannot provide better conditions for them until I move. I believe they might do great under my LED light but that is fully occupied with all the paphiopedilums at the moment. lol
So for me, the halogen ligh setup works pretty good judging by the results I'm getting.

I have an Onc. addiction...
Speckled Spire 'wisp'
Smells awesome....stands about four feet tall with it's flower spike.
Turtle Onc. A species of who's name I cannot recall at the moment.
Entire plant.
I pushed it into sh as the main p bulb is growing new roots, prime chance to get it into sh pronto.

I love oncidiums as well. They grow fast, flower like crazy, some are nicely scented...BUT, many of them have these ugly&suspicious dark spots on the leaves.
Some are just natural, some some are fungus spots or virus, which is hard to tell, which drives me crazy.
Ok, the only oncidium I have, that doesn't have any dots on the leaves are the typical yellow dancing lady.
