Onc. Tsiku Margurite

This is confusing. I wonder if OrchidWiz has an error. On the family tree it shows what you see at RHS. But on the wheel diagram it shows sotoanum replaced by ornithorynchum. So then I look up Onc. Twinkle and there is no mention of sotoanum and it shows it is half ornithorynchum and half cheirophorum. I wonder which it is? . The flowers sure look like my ornithorynchum!

Actually I just found a bit of info regarding the two names sotoanum and ornithorynchum. Here is a link below. Looks like the pink ones are now sotoanum and the yellow ones are ornithorynchum. Geesh, I can't pronounce them or spell them

NYC - I have mine growing in a very fine grade of bark, pearlite and charcoal. No one piece is much bigger than a pencil eraser. As a result, it's much slower to dry out than your typical bark mix. Even so, I still try and water it 2x a week - so it's always pretty wet.

Chryss / Silken - Thanks for the info on the parents. I've got some updating to do.

Now that this has been in bloom for a while the scent has really intensified. You get the whole "cakepie" aroma in the whole living room when it's in full sun. Love it.

Where do you find such small particle bark?
I have one yellow variety that are shooting up lots of new growths and it is literally packed! desperately in need of a bigger pot. I was thinking moss for medium becuase moss it very easy to work with and causes minimum root damage.
The thing is moss tends to stay wet too long. Currently, only some of my phals are in moss as they like to stay moist all the time without having problems.

Yay! Wow, the plant and blooms look great. I got a Tsiku Marguerite around over two years ago, and it's reblooming for me now for the first time. The aphids got most of the buds and spikes before I managed to spray it with neem oil, and four of the five spikes died on me. Now I'm left with two blooms, but we'll see if the remaining spike will produce any more. I'm mostly happy that it finally rebloomed, haha.

Perhaps I ought to try and keep my plant wetter. I think I let it get dry a bit too much in the past, when all I really knew about orchids was that you shouldn't overwater them. Maybe it will produce more pbs and I'll get a nice show next year!

This one is about to explode with flowers again. The first few just opened up yesterday.
