Question Brassia Hybrid NOID

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me identify this orchid. It had a spike and blooms when I got it but put out another large spike with PBs above the leaves and several new flower spikes above the new PBs. The flowers have a little more color than these pictures indicate. Should I use a hormone to promote root growth below the new PBs? More importantly, I like this plant very much but bought in in Florida without tag.

To the forum ! I know it's in the Oncidium alliance but that's where my knowledge ends. I'm sure someone else will fill you in.

It is probably Miltassia Charles M. Fitch, a very widely distributed hybrid. It is simply not possible to be sure. Otherwise it is a similar Miltassia (Brassia x Miltonia) hybrid.

You have a keiki (baby) on that spike. Commonly seen in Phalaenopsis, but quite unusual to see in Oncidium Alliance plants. Once it forms some good roots you can cut the spike and pot it up on its own - instant clone. Wrapping some moist sphagnum around it may encourage roots. Nice healthy looking plant.

Default Thanks for the indentification

I think you are right on and probably the 'Izuma' variety from what my early review suggests. Thank you very much for saving me hours looking at pictures. This was one of those 3 for $25 dollar deals that I lucked into when visiting a nursery near Wellington, FL last October. I repotted after the first blooms expired and it does seem quite happy and now has four new spikes off the keiki, with one in bloom and many more coming on the others.
