This Miltonia is very common (for a orchid) here in Europe. Nonetheless, it is one of my favorites.

It has the commom problem that you usually find in some Miltonia. The flowers are not well spaced and that is why I only show a pic of one flower. But to compensate for this, each mature pseudobulb gives one spike and two new pseudobulbs. It grows very well and it makes a specimen plant easily and quickly.

It is a complex hybrid made mainly with Miltonia spectabilis (when moreliana was a variety of spectabilis) and of Miltonia clowesii and Miltonia flavescens in less degree.

Fantastic photo! Strangely, the true Miltionias are not so common in Canada...our vendors sell more Miltoniopsis.

Thanks!

Todd, the same here in Europe.

I always thought that because the majority of them comes from the Netherlands, they would prefer Miltoniopsis due to the cooler temperature preference. But I really donīt know why. We do have a lot of Miltassia tough!

I have this plant that is probably one of my first orchids so that means that I have had it for about fifteen years. It is definitely one that you would recommend for beginners. It will thrive on any kind of care and has no insect or disease problems. I think I have given a Division to every member of my orchid society and still have a large plant.

Another very easily grown, warm grower is Miltonia Flavescens. It has sprays of creamy, starry shaped sprays and blooms profusely in the spring. It grows well on a mount.

Lagoon and Susanne, thanks!

Hi Jerry, I agree in both of them.

I have already started with my orchid society too . Together we will spread this orchid to places where an orchid has never been!
