Default Sharry Baby Misaki

I read up on Sharry Baby Tricolor on the internet and some people mentioned it is smaller than Sharry Baby.
I wonder if they were confused with Oncidium Heaven Scent 'Redolence' as it looks just like Sharry Baby tricolor except it is smaller.

I have both and love them both. If I had to dump on out due to space limit, it'll be Sharry Baby. As much as I love it and all, it is just too big!

Onc. Heaven Scent 'Redolence' stands about 3ft from the base of pb to the top of the spik, while Sharry Baby Tricolor stand about 6ft.
I find Redolence scent is lighter but sweeter than Sharry without giving me that slight headache.

By the way, the last picture shows an individual flower of Sharry Baby Tricolor I have. I include it here because I think it doesn't really show the yellow tip in the whole body shot. I think it had more of yellowing, but it is nice enough for me.

It's beautiful!

Yes, Sharry Baby can become a monster - I've started thinking of mine as "Sharry Monster" - mine's been relegated to outdoors as it's become too big for a windowsill - fortunately, it seems ok with that (goes into garage on the coldest nights). It came in a 4" pot two years ago, it's now in a 7" pot, and quite snug already. And yes, the fragrance is nice, but gives me a headache, too - just really strong

I envy your large bedroom window...its way bigger than my bay window in my livingroom...and most people really doubt us growing healthy happy orchids in a Manhattan apartment...
*ever tried screwing hooks on your ceiling? I have industrial hooks a foot away from the window at 10 inches intervals end to end...thats where I hang my vandas and cluster down some of my minis ...large plants are best hanging and its roots resplendent and freely flowing

Sonya- beautiful name by the way! Just like one of my favorite orchids, Den.Sonia!
Yes, they are monsters given the size. lol
I find all of my oncidium family sort of monsters as far as growth pattern is concerned, but that trait also gives lots of flower spikes, so I kinda like it too.

Bud- I'm sure there are plenty of people like us here in the city. I'm not allowed to drill a hole on the ceiling here. What's worse, next year, I'm moving to a south facing window (yay) but with less window space. sigh~

I grow it the same as other oncidiums I have. Morning sun, water often to keep moist (not soggy wet), feed every week...that's about it and I got lucky or it is just in the gene of the plant.
