Ah that explains it. Such a nice one you've got there. It's such a plus when the blooms you love are on a plant that is vigorous. :)

I soak them alternated weekly in seaweed mix and worm tea mix ...seaweed for the leaves and worm tea for the roots...it gives them enough energy to bloom and produce new growths...last summer it did enjoy its stay on the fire escape with the hot and very humid Manhattan atmosphere(I think its the sun and the air=thats my greatest secret)

Help. Just bought two plants, and the flowers are dying off. Also, I can't find care instructions anywhere. I'm afraid I'm going to loose them. I also think they need to be re-potted.
Thank you, Mary Jo ---------- Post added at 04:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:20 PM ---------- I forgot to mention, they are the Kilauea Karma variety. |
MaryJo, you need to provide us with pictures to help you better.....your grow zone, where your plant is located in a window or under a tree facing what direction sun=south, north, east or west....what is the humidity percentage and air flow....how often do you water it and feed it with fertilizer
Your plant is a hybrid in the Oncidium alliance, I suggest you research or google Oncidium culture. |
That is a beast of a plant very healthy looking leaves with nice roots and lots of flowers. Very nice.
