Oncidium Twinkle Leaves white, cause?
I acquired this plant in March. It was a mail order plant and came a little beat up from traveling. I repotted it.
It has grown ok, and now has some flower spikes, so that it seems to me that the plant is happy. But, I am wondering what is going on with the white (almost bleached looking) areas on some of the leaves. This seems to be mostly on the old growth leaves.
Any ideas as to the cause for this?

I agree, the light it's been getting is too bright.

I've always had it indoor, under my 400w HPS light, I will move it to the side.
Thanks,
Bob

Definitely too much light. If you're lucky some of them may return to being green in a few months once it's getting the correct about of light.

According to OrchidWiz, this plant should have medium or dappled/filtered light. The green leaves look like they are bordering on pale, although photos can be deceiving. It certainly appears as if its getting too much light.

It is definitely sun "cooked"
I found that when you expose an orchid to higher than needed light (as long as you don't burn it badly), leaves may look rather bad, but the flower counts go up.
I had my oncidium by the south window during summer. By late July, I noticed the leaves were turning yellow green. It was dark green before.
Once I moved it indoor and grew under the halogen light, the yellowing got better and now it is light green.
Five new growth has fat pbs and each has two flower spikes growing out of them. Yay!!!
