Exclamation oncidium psuedo bulb no leaf

I recently planted an oncidium plug an one of the oldest psuedo bulbs broke off. It doesn't have a leaf and is about the size of a quarter. I planted it in sphag. Do you think it will grow? What should I do to promote growth? I am new to the orchid world. Thanks!

sometimes these will sprout new growth, sometimes not - I have sprouted cym back bulbs, but I think they sprout quite easily compared to other genera. Keep it shaded, warm, and humid (if you can) - from what I have read, it can take quite some time.
