guys,

Bought this today at Evergreen for fifteen bucks....can someone tell me what odtna stands for and what are the growing conditions for this? Is it similar to an Onc. Sharry Baby? I have no idea about how to grow it; it has small roots, so Im assuming alot of humidity. It also has very thin leaves, so I would guess indirect light in maybe an eastern or southern window, avoiding full-sun. Thanks for any suggestions!

Eddie

Odontonia - hybrid of Odontoglossum and Miltonia
I would suspect that it should do well with care as for Onc Sharry Baby.

A friend of mine is just now sending me my first Odtna Papageno 'Mi Amour'. Does anyone have this one? I also have three miltonia. I love them for scent but not sure I can rebloom them. They look healthy but I need to fill out the bulbs I think by spring. Any tips on growing hte Odtna? Thanks

Your Memoria Martin Orenstein should be a beauty! Some of the parentage takes fairly bright light so OrchidWiz suggests bright indirect light. It should also be grown cold to intermediate. With the Mitoniopsis and Odm. crispum it won't tolerate heat real well.

Pretty much the same for the Papageno. I would love either one of these!

Silken: Sorry I didn't word this correctly. It is Papageno that I am getting. I thought I read the M Orenstein has a larger flower maybe? I do like the pattern on both of these and with Odont background will be different for me as I do not currently have any straight odont in my collection.

No problem, I was replying to the original poster (EDDIE) who has Mem. Martin Orenstein and you I would happily have either plant as they both look beautiful from the pictures I looked up!
