Great News
I have a psychopsis Mendenhall 'Hildos' that came with one spike and a second one starting. The second spike grew a while, blasted a bud, then stalled. Well, it has been MONTHS!!! Today I noticed that the stalled spike is forming a subspike!!!! I may end up with more than one flower at a time yet!

Hey Jonada, that's great news! Also, my Psy. decided to blast 3 buds before one actaully stuck around. That one lasted more than a month, and a month after it fell, a new bud had formed! It's still around as we speak. These guys are great!

And I'm thrilled because mine is getting new leaves. Good luck with your blooms, everyone!

Aren't these plants great? Mine blooms for a month, then a new bud immediately starts growing and within a month it's blooming again. Got a new growth starting on mine, and if it grows at the same speed as the previous it should be blooming sometime early summer next year.

good going!!
my bloom only lasted about 5 days, then the 2nd bud blasted, then the plant committed suicided it was so unhappy. I think it might be too much of a warm grower for me or doesn't like my east window. Just one of the plants I cant seem to grasp. I never had one long enough to figure out what it wanted.

I haven't found it to be particularily needy for warm temps. During the winter on my wintersill the temperature often gets down to 15-16C (I'll let you do the conversion!) and this summer it was outside in weather that was hardly warmer. No, I think the trick with these guys is keeping the roots happy. They need lots of air, and need to dry out fast between waterings.
