Default Burrageara Nelly Isler 'Swiss Beauty'

My Nelly Isler buds have started to open! I bought this last winter and was pleased to see two bloom spikes in late spring. The other spike has one flower open so far. I lost a few buds to a bug that was boring holes in them when I hung it outside from a tree. So it had to come back into the greenhouse!

There is a bit of scent in early afternoon, but not a lot yet.

Thanks! It is so red! It's been on my wish list for a while so I'm pleased that it seems happy now that I got it.

I'm not sure what your growing environment is like, but I have read many times that these slowly wane away if it is too hot for them. They like fairly high light but need to be reasonably cool as they do have miltoniopsis in them. Mine was loving being hung from an apricot tree in a hanging pot. After a day of rain, all the PB's were just plump and fat! But bugs were getting to the buds. But I can give it the cool it needs for most of the year.

Good luck with your 'Stephan'.

Just got one due to all the hubbub about this plant on OB
It's blooming now with two open flowers per spike and two or three unopened buds. Another spike is not yet open at all.
Not quite sure I detect a scent yet though.

Overall, a very nice plant
I got mine from Orchidweb.

This is one of my favourite orchids. It has a beautiful scent. I miss it. Yours looks beautiful! Good growing!! What do you use as a medium?

Mine is still in ICU. Soaked it in KLN on Monday. Give it the ocassional spritz with the kln solution. But nothing.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the roots to come back? I know, patience...

Mine is in mostly med bark with a few bits of moss throughout as these don't like to completely dry out.

I hope yours hangs on. If there are any new growths on yours, they will produce the new roots. The KLN should help encourage new vigorous root growth on them and maybe promote more growth of existing live ones on the rest of the plant. (Paramount has more of these if you should need another).
