Thanks for the info on reblooming, I have two of theses guys, a Pink Panther and a Genting Sunray, and I haven't managed to bloom them yet. Mine are outside, also getting afternoon sun and are purple-green. Hopefully them temp drop in fall induces blooms!

hehe - well, I do have plants I've had longer with out getting blooms - one, a small reed stem epi I've probably had 5 years, does have spikes now, so hopefully that run will end soon. I also have a small den-phal, probably have had it 6 years - no blooms! ugh! got buds last year, but one by one they withered and dropped just as they approached being big enough to open funny thing is I've two other small den-phals that have bloomed without problem ...
I'm really looking forward to seeing what the epi's blooms look like - I think it's a species, but since I didn't record the name, I forgot a long time ago what it is
good luck with your Phal!

Wow, sounds like I need to move mine then. They are both outside but don't have that purple color you guys are talking about. But I have also protected it from late afternoon to evening sun.

Yeah, I have another Phal that hasn't bloomed in 5 years, and didn't spike this year. But it had some root problems in the past. This year I got a Zygopetalum to bloom that hadn't bloomed in 3 years. I also have two Paph species that I haven't managed to bloom in several years either...
I am hopeful about these Tolumnias. I got them out of flower for super cheap (8 bucks each!) and as I was researching them, I read that they often bloom continuously....certainly not the case for me, but both plants have put up new fans, so they are happy and growing, at least.

I don't know that the purple hue is necessary, but if they have it, you at least know that they are getting good light. They may be fine where they are - I don't know - I do know they like a pretty good amount of light

my Genting Peach, which bloomed a little ahead of this one (the Genting Pink Lady), spike has been bare for a short while - new buds are developing at the end of the spike, ends of the two branches, and both branches are developing little branches, which are both budding already
