Way to go. Nice growing and patience!
I've got this one on my wish list, since I'm really interested in the fragrance. Look forward to seeing more pics as it unfolds.
Cheers,
Tony

I can't wait to smell the chocolate! I indulged last month [greenhouse I went to, had a Huge Sharry]
took a few photos yesterday, and the size of the "eggs" pseudo bulbs is aprox 2 inches around The whole plant is about 1 and a half feet [tall]. The bulbs are also pretty fat I've really been pouring the rain water to them.

I forgot to mention, she's very snug in the pot [a bit of a worry for me , there is a tiny new pseudo trying to grow}. I don't want to disturb anything right now.

It will take a while for your spike to bloom. But your bloom will last a long time too and the vanilla flavored chocolate fragrance will make the wait worthwhile.

Here's something to get you more excited about your plant. While you're waiting for your plant to bloom, you can look for the movie "Simply Irresistible." I guess you would call it a chick flick, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Cruel Intentions). Fragrance is an important theme in the movie and if you watch attentively, your plant has a brief, but significant, cameo appearance.

If you watch the movie with your plant in bloom, you can have quite a sensory experience ... sight, sound AND real life smell.

WOW, yours is quite large in comparison to mine, lol... I guess mine may bloom in another 3 years or so as it isn't even palm sized yet. Thanks for sharing! Impressive plant you have (and the others nearby in the pics).

yes, these get BIG, very fast! I got one, snug in a 4" pot , 2 years ago - just put it in a 7" pot! and the way it grows, might only be good for a year in that

Congratulations! Although not a very flashy bloom, this one is one of my absolute favorites! You cannot beat the fragrance. Get ready for the smell of delicious chocolate to FILL the room! My Sharry Baby's last blooming filled the living room, kitchen, and stairs down to the foyer with this fragrance, and with only 2 small spikes.
