I do not know whether it is a species or not, but they are mini plants with flowers about 3 cm in diameter.
Spikes occur when their pseudobulbs mature and therefore they may bloom anytime in a year.

What a nice yellow! I have one much like it but it is more orange then yellow. I like yours better! lol
