Default Bllra Peggy Ruth Carpenter ' Morning Joy'

It's in spike for the 3rd time this calendar year! Can't believe it. I haven't divided this monster since I got it but have been repotting. Recently repotted to very large waterlily basket with bark mix and it went to town growing new growths and roots and maturing other growths.

1st blooming was one spike on one of last year's growths. As that spike faded and finished, another growth double-spiked with an awsum display. A couple new growths from earlier this year are now spiking and the pseudobulbs aren't even mature . There are many, many newer growths which should be next years' spike candidates. Can't wait.

When the plant and it's spikes are further along I'll post a pic.

I also dream of a monster specimen. Ross, I can't wait for the pics.

Sorry for the long reply, but she took her time in coming.

5 spikes on the third bloom of 2007! Not sure what the record is, but this is one bloomin monster! Two spikes to the right in pic and the big mass at left is two spikes and one straggler in the back.

Mine is a dud! However, I was given another by our member Ironwood and that one is doing great...a division from his monster which now has 3 new growths, one in spike and the other two too young to tell yet but I expect will spike as well. I guess my first plant was just a freaky wimp despite it being a mericlone. At least now I have a healthy one...I love the flowers!
