Default Miltoniopsis Hawaiian Waters '#72 x #3' in bloom

Here is my first blooming of Miltoniopsis Hawaiian Waters '#72 x #3'. I am so in love with the blooms that I couldn't wait for them to open completely before snapping a photo! The buds were huge and the blooms seem very large. It also has a nice scent. It is not a mericlone and the resulting seedlings seem to have a very big difference in looks from each other based on photos I have seen of this hybrid. So it was a big surprise to see what I got I got itfrom Paramount last fall.

Beautiful rich colors and markings. May I ask what the scent is like?, and any idea how long the blooms last on average? I to would be pleasantly surprised by this Miltoniopsis! AL

I love the colors!

I need to take another crack at these beautiful orchids. My first one was a seedling that I foolishly brought to school with me and roasted it in my non-air conditioned dorm room.

Thanks Al, the scent is pretty much like the fresh flower smell when you walk into a florist shop, but not as strong. I've read that blooms last 4 to 8 weeks in good condition. I had one that lasted in pristine condition for 9 weeks! Another one was nice for 5.

Thanks Evan, they definitely are worth another try!
