One of the parents to the hybrid Psychopsis Mendenhall 'Hildos' is the species
Psychopsis papilio:
Psychopsis papilio Culture
Psychp Mendenhall 'Hildos' is not the only
Psychp. with mottled leaves.
Psychopsis papilio and
Psychp. sanderae both have mottled leaves.
Psychopsis papilio var. aurea lacks the brown pigments so it will not show the mottled patterns on the leaves.
Lack of adequate lighting will also reduce the amount of brown pigmentation that makes the mottled patterns.
Psychp. doesn't like cool winters. Intermediate winters are fine, but not cool or cold ones.
