A couple are species, one is a hybrid. I'll make sure I have the names correct before I post 'em. Temps in the terr are usually in the 70's -- over the summer 80's are common.
On an unrelated note. I'm going to be in the "Rocks" in a couple of weekends, LP. If it weren't for the fact it will only be for the day, I would have been tempted to seek you out and say "hi".

I've tried that too. Even have some with the leaves getting a touch of burgundy so I know the light levels are high enough.

don't give up! I've been frustrated with my tolus too - grow well, don't bloom - but today I found a spike on one!

Found two more spikes while watering yesterday! I'll try to get pictures of the set-up, thom, and post a description (although possibly in another thread -- I'll let you know).

OMG, I am so in love Tolum's now. I went out and about my second one last week - lol... And I don't even know if I'm able to really grow them yet! I'm addicted!
Thank you for those pictures, and please post your set up for us. I would love to see and know more as I am quickly becoming a huge fan of these!
So you grow yours on s/h type media or mounted. I doubt I can do mounted. I currently have mine in clay pots with about 1 inch of charcoal in the bottom to help retain a little moisture. I water it with distilled water every morning. Fertilized every week with oncidium Gro-More solution.
I am so hungry for information on these guys! Please tell and show us more!
Signed,
True addict, lol...

I just thought about something. LP, could you dedicate a new thread to growing Tolumnia? It would be really nice to have a dedicated thread that explains how you grow them, what lessons you learned, and what not to do. I don't want to hijack your show-n-tell thread, lol...

My little tolumnia is breaking out of it's 2" pot. Roots are coming out, etc. Where do you recommend that I buy the charcoal to put it in a slightly larger pot? I guess I could just pluck out the charcoal bits in the potting mix & use those?

I got my charcoal from Home Depot (or was it Lowes). I just rinse it very well before using it. You can also purchase it (probably better quality) from RePotme.com.
