Talking Oncidium Gold Dust

Well I guess we got the fertilizer flushed and I gave my Oncs more light. Look what we have so far.

Onc Gold Dust decided to throw up a spike. I counted more blooms than last year so I guess I can honestly say now that I can grow and re-bloom an Oncidium.

Sorry for the poor pic quality. I put up a makeshift throw on my work desk. I used a desk lamp, white paper diffuser, camera resting on two books and the wrong depth of field. And I forgot to set my white balance so I had to color correct.

Oncidium Gold Dust Male
Thumbs up oncidium GoldDust

the oncidium gold dust is pretty easy to grow at least for me all it need in order to bloom is a few degrees drop in temperature over the night for a couple of weeks, to a month at night let the temperatures drop a few degrees i have a sunroom at my house an at night in the winter the temperatures naturaly get a bit cold not to cold as to freez the plants but cool enough, in california were they grow them in gren houses they through ice cubes around the roots the cold water melts and causes the orchids to think its winter, they do the same thing with phalanopsis orchics as well. good luck and hope this helps
