BRSDM shooting star 'mustard'

Brassidium is , for those who don't know AND actually care, an Oncidium x Brassia hybrid.
This one has been a great bloomer, but watch your humidity. Too dry and it will pleat like crazy. Spikes will actually get stuck in leaf and break off after bending wildly. Heart breaker. I lost four spike last fall. Four of four. Most spikes ever on this plant was four. Looked good.
I will be dividing this year. Might need some advice.

Brsdm. are in a class of there own, the flowers are so delicate and for such a gorgeous bloom duration is limited...

Yeah, but just when you get used to them, maybe begin to "not look so much anymore", they go.

Great growing. I have Brsdm Shooting Stars 'Black Gold'. It grows and blooms without much work on my part.

I have this one too - seems to grow without me doing anything special (lucky me!) I think it's cool how the blooms get a darker yellow as it ages.

Mine smelled like Old Spice aftershave - does yours have that scent?

Neat hybrid! The only orchi that pleats on me are Miltonias...no matter how much I water, they want to pleat!

I wonder if they are known to pleat in the wild too. I would not be surprised.
I can not detect any scent. Then again, I have a face cold.

I too have a "black gold" and it's spiking as we speak! I've had mine 3 years now.
