Hey guys,

I have a back bulb from a psychopsis papilio; can anyone tell me the best way to get it to grow new roots and new growths? Carter and holmes says to mist these on sunny mornings and then when new roots appear to repot; hold off on watering until the roots are around an inch in length; also what to repot it in? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Here are 2 pics of it; front and back. As you can see I really neglected it this summer I dont know if the existing roots are viable. HELP!!!

Eddie

I have never seen a single psuedobulb with half a leaf survive but I guess anything is possible. Carter and holmes suggestion sounds reasonable to me. My smaller oncidiums have done well in sphagnum moss or coconut husk chips. Good luck.

The existing roots are viable when they are wet and feel firm. But if they feel hollow then they are dead and can be removed. Good luck.
