Will my oncidium bloom this year?

I have an oncidium "copper falls". It was divided last year. Its other half died after I gave it to my mom, but it is doing well and growing. The new growth on it is about 6 months old but due to lack of light it grew small and has small leaves. I started giving it more light for a couple of months now, and it grew more but still looking a bit puney. Will it skip blooming this year? Can I convince it to anyway? I really really want to see it bloom... None of my orchids have rebloomed yet (I've only started this hobby a year ago), and I really thought this one would but now I'm not so sure... Like I said, seems happy but puney new growth (due to obvious light issue which I'v fixed).

as orchids bloom off new growth predominately, i would say not....if it is under low light, not enuf to make strong growth, i dont see how it can flower....keep the light up and hope for good strong growth which will flower for you....gl

Should I expect a new growth from this puney growth or from an older pseudobulb?
