I have an oncidium copper falls "michigan" since march. It put out a new growth about 3 months ago. It was growing really fast and putting out a lot of new roots, but it seems to have stopped growing all together for the last month. It's not a mature pseudobulb yet and the leaves are a few inches shorter than the leaves on the old pseudobulbs. Is this normal? Should I change something?

Interesting question that I don't know the answer to.

I have one that put out two growths one after the other, then the first stopped while the second kept going. The second is now the biggest and even has a spike. I have no idea why the first stoped... culture is the same as the growing one... they're on the same plant!

I would love to know what might cause it.

If the plant looks well otherwise, I don't know that I would be worried about it.
I know here on the west coast, this summer has been on the cool side, and someone I know in Washington has told me there hasn't been much sun where he is..
If you are having the same weather as he is, I suppose it's possible that could be a contributing factor - unless of course you grow under lights, and in a climate controlled spot.

I'm interested to see what others may think - I'm just taking a stab in the dark lol
