Default Cheap Miltonia Noid for Brits

Hi guys

Anyone on this side of the Pond who doesn't mind collecting Noids might like to know that I bought this beauty in tight bud at Netto for the princely sum of £5!!

Enjoy!

Regards
Heather

Very nice flower and a good price, but do check this one for sphagnum moss in the roots, it can be a problem with these supermarket plants.

me think that are miltoniopsis...miltonia has broader thinner leaves, smaller psuedo bulb and a tighter lipped warm growing plant.
The pansy orchids(miltoniopsis) are cooler growing plants created for us cooler people I do love the blooms on them, there purple...we get them too and they are perty plants!!!
don't get water on them or direct sun or the blooms will drop real fast.. and dont re-pot it they dont like repotting at all until the plant is literally choking from the roots...

Yeah, Miltoniopsis are often labled as Miltonia in this country and that looks like Miltoniopsis to me.

It's wonderful, hmm don't normally go to Netto but we do have one locally so I might have to take a look.

I agree about checking the roots, most Oncidium alliance that I've bought in the UK, both NoID and even named ones from Orchid specialists, have had moss in the center.

Yes, I din't think it was Miltonia that's just what they put on the label It's from a Dutch grower called Van den Goes who I can find on the map, but they don't appear to have their own web site so it's like;y to remain a NOID
