Beautiful picture Ron. Most of the shows I go to I only photograph and don't usually buy anything. Sometimes you see some really strange orchids and plants oh yes and people.

Hey Swamper,
That's why we go to shows, too. We did buy a couple plants at the last show we went to (No this one, but a couple of Masd. hybrids), but we go mostly for the photos. And, you are right when you say that the people are sometimes as strange as the orchids.

I just acquired a Burr. Nelly Isler 'Swiss Beauty'. One location on the internet says it is Cochlioda x Miltonia x Odontoglossum x Oncidum, and yet another states it is:
Oncidium, Miltoniopsis and Vuylstekeara.

I realize that combining an Odontonia hybrid with a Cochlioda becomes Vuylstekeara....What I'd like to know is, what is the PROPER or official way to describe it, or does it matter?

Also this one was awarded, so is it okay to note the award on MY plant?

Thanks!

Yes, the award goes with the plant wherever it goes and whoever clones it or divides it. As to the way you describe the parents of Burrageara it doesn't matter- those genera add up to the same thing however you combine them.

Thanks for the info! I should mention that my new 'swiss beauty' has 6 spikes with lots of buds, so it should look beautiful...I'll post once they open up.

Hey Ron. I just saw the Heart of the Matter picture. That is one of my favorite shots of yours. Excellent man.
