Default I have Identified them!!! Now what do i do?

LOL

I didnt realize that so many orchids were hybrids!

So my plan of lookin them up to find the proper care techniques was a lil more involved than initially anticipated!!!

BUT Here we go!

my personal fav

Tag said:MTSSA. CHARLES M. FITCH 'IZUMI' and then something about Leopard

next up

Tag Said: MTSSA. SADIE LOO x ONC. LEUCHILOA

and my final one

Tag Said:BRSDM. SHOOTING STAR 'BLACK GOLD' HCC/AOS

Now, What id really aprreciate is if you gurus could give me a lil general care advice?

they seem to be a hybrid of species that like humidity >60%, day temps between65-75, night temps between 55-65, and they like water, not soggy, but never dry.

am I right there? dear god i love these things, help me give them what the need!!!

I grow similar Brassia hybrids in my house, where the humidity ranges from 30-70%. Mine are in a western exposure and get some, but not tons of direct sun in the late afternoon.

I water mine when the pseudobulbs are just starting to wrinkle, mine are pretty thirsty plants and in summer need water every 4-5 days, planted in cocohusk chips. You need to adjust that for your conditions and medium however.

Mine flower off of each new growth once it matures, so it can be more than once a year, depends on how much growing it does per year. These are very popular hybrids, so someone with these very plants might have more info.

Oh, and mine range in winter nights at about 50 degrees near the window and into the 80's during summer days. I don't know if they like these temps, but they seem fine.

And to be clear in case I wasn't, each bulb only flowers once (although it can have several spikes per bulb), but it grows several a year.

You can use RHS orchid register to look up registered hybrids or the parents for a cross. You can google it.

Lots and lots of hybrids look pretty much identical, and there is also a lot of variation within a single cross as well, and lots of hybrids are not registered (meaning the you would see it written as you describe, Parent 1 x Parent 2). Meaning, without a tag, you cannot ever truly id an orchid hybrid, there are way too many that look the same.

I would go with the tag unless there is a glaringly obvious mistake, it's probabaly correct and there is not reason to think it isn't. It's likely just an unregistered hybrid.

I looked up your Mtssa hybrid in OrchidWiz and I see a cross there of Mtssa. Sadie Loo x Onc. leuchochilum ( a species Onc.) which is an intergeneric hybrid called Aliceara Maui Magic. There is no registered plant with the name Onc. Leuchiloa hybrid or species. IMO you have Alcra. Maui Magic.
