Holy CRAP!! What a STINKER!!
Can't post pics right now as I can't find my camera.
But I have a Oncidium Degarmoara Winter Wonderland "white fairy" in bloom for about a month, and flowers are still bright and crisp. But during the last cold spell I brought it in and found out just what it's smell is, and both my wife and daughter begged me to put it back outside. It smelled like roach spray.
How the heck is this thing s'posed to draw an insect to pollinate it is beyond belief. Beautiful flowers, but my gawd, what a stinker.

You may want to check your potting mix - do you have cats or other animals about ?
Oncidium Degarmoara Winter Wonderland 'White Fairy' should have a pleasant smell.

You wont find that plant anywhere in nature. I love the smell, its kind of peppery sweet.

Maybe someone else will find the scent nice, I find it offensive. It could be it just too strong for inside, or maybe the "notes of cinnamon". Or maybe it's too many intergenerics, but to us, it's too muvh.
Beautiful flower though, with it's stark white petals and purple splotches.
Gotta find that camera....

Are we all on the same page???? Stinker???? I've had this for several years and bloomed it frequently; it's about the only Oncidium Alliance plant that I've been able to flower!!!! I have NEVER noticed a foul odor... not ever!
Is this the flower we're talkin about... are we talkin about this flower.... well, are we!!

I'm wondering if the smell came from elsewhere? I have one of these, but it doesn't smell bad. Actually, mine smells like licorice.

I don't think it came from elsewhere as it hangs in my pergola, about 5' up. Prolly just too strong of a scent fer my sniffer.
Definitely a looker though!
