Hi Brotherly Monkey,

Onc. edwalli is smallest one of the so called brazilian-mule-ear-group like Onc. divaricatum or Onc. robustissimum. Maybe that nowadays these group belongs to an other Genera. Grow it like a Cattleya with less light. If you can - I do so - mount it

Good growing!

Tesa

thanks for the info, Tesa. But out of curiosity, what have you noticed about it's temperature tolerance?

I think the bakers gave the ideal max temp at 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Have you ever had problems wth it getting warmer than this?

The Bakers are right. 85F are...?? 30 degrees centrigrade and here in Germany while summer outdoor growing the temperatures are seldom above 30 degrees on my NE exposed balcony.

look here:
Kultur - Drinnen und draußen - Orchideen-Forum
the pictures are linked to my orchidboard gallery too

If you can provide sufficient watering and a good air movement you wonīt hav any problem with higher temperatures, but donīt prepare a orchid-BBQ! The plantīs structure indicate high tolerance.

In winter the plants tolerate (they have to, because I donīt heat for my plants) temperatures below 15 degrees (59F).

Iīll be back.
