Love the butterfly. Remember not to cut the spike after the flower is spent. these are sequential bloomers.

Yea, it's like a helicopter hovering over the others. It has 3 others spikes, and dont worry I wont cut anything!

It reminds me....of a fairy wearing a headdress and a skirt. Or a creature wearing a ruffly blouse with ruffly feet and antennas. Like a paradise bird dressed up to cha-cha or tango.

In any case- I love it! A lot of character, this one.

How big is the flower itself? Do these grow in sprays?

No sprays for these guys just single, sequential blooms. The 1 pictured just fell yesterday but another is right behind and I would guess the flowers are about 3in. wide by maybe 6in. in height including their "antenna's".
