Default Colmanara Wildcat

Hello everyone,

I wanted to show you all some pictures of my Colmanara Wildcat, I got from the Lake Wales Lowe's about a year ago for about $12. It was on sale because the spike was done blooming. This is the first blooming since I have owned it, enjoy everyone.

Awesome! And this one has such pretty blooms. I love that feeling when an orchid reblooms in my care for the first time.

Default Another Colmanara wildcat

I've just today taken delivery of this Colmanara wildcat plant and must say I love the flower. It's a young plant - but the flower has very different coloring from yours...

Though I ordered one plant, my friend sent me two. The second one is a larger plant but not in flower, so it will be interesting waiting for flowers on that one!

Any comments welcome.

Wildcat can vary quite a lot.

Wildcat 'Ocelot' and Wildcat 'Bobcat' are two popular cultivars of it and when you compare then you can see how different they are. Other unnamed cultivars of the same hybrid could be quite different from both I guess.

I love this one. I have a Colmanara that was just tagged as 'Bobcat' but it's so close to Wildcat 'Bobcat' that I think it was just tagged with the cultivar name rather than the hybrid. I still have it tagged as a NoID but I'm pretty sure it's a Wildcat hybrid.

I love both the Amanda's and Patricia's versions of this, might have to look out for some other varieties of this hybrid.

Default Wildcat variations

Check this out, it's a link to a PDF from Matsui Corp showing the varieties of Wildcat that they carry.

I think I like 'Rainbow' the best of these. There are lots of other clones beside these.

BTW here's a link to Floricultura in Holland, they are a huge producer of orchid pot plants. They have a nice page on intergenerics that may be helpful in identifying unlabeled plants (especially in Europe).

Love your flowers. Talk about bright and beautiful.

Neal, those are great sites. Thanks for sharing them. I love the 'Golden Gate'.
