Another first bloom. One spike, and the blossoms are a bit sparse and widely spaced compared to photos I've seen of this species. Hopefully it will improve as the plant gets older. The spike is almost two feet long, and took nearly six months from the time it first appeared to when the flowers actually opened. Individual blooms are about 1.5" across. It kinda looks like a swarm of bees in flight!

Congratulation Stephen !!!! Mine is in spike right now. That's a very long spike at almost 2 feet. I've always seen it like you mention really compact and the flowers close to each other. Still it's gorgeous !!!!
