I had mine potted (in aliflor) for a long time and it did great last year (got my first Yellow ribbon at last year's show with Lockhartia Gold Speck). This year I moved it to a mount becuase the mount was just the perfect piece for the plant
It got a late start this year but has now started sending out buds. I keep it in a shady area, gets some afternoon light indirectly and misted everyday.
You just have to find it's happy place
