Onc. Sharry Baby 'Red'
Sharry Baby 'Red' has a slightly smaller flower, a n.s. of 1 - 1/8", than my 'Sweet Fragrance', a n.s. of 1 - 3/8". And the flower has no white markings. Petals/sepals of red with a red blushing to pink lip. Same great chocolate fragrance.

Nice blooms. However, looks like an Oncidium Twinkle to me. What do others think?

Does look slightly more "twinkle-ish" than it should... But it is still very nice all the same!

Charlie, this plant looks delightful and smaller than Sweet Fragrance. If so, and the fragrance is as strong as Sweet Fragrance I am interested.
Here is my experience with various clones of Sharry Baby in the last 30 years. 'Sweet Fragrance' and 'Short Sharry', beautiful white lip with red spots, strongest fragrance, wafting out into the hallway.
I also grew 3 others: 'Two Color', 'Fantasy' and 'Red Fantasy' all had milder fragrance and more red in the lips, some all red and some with white edges occasionally. These were all somewhat smaller plants but I missed the intense fragrance of the first two and they looked rather muddy in low light.

Compare
Here is a closer picture of the flowers on the 'Red'. And a comparision of Onc Sharry Baby 'Sweet Fragrance', then Onc Sharry Baby 'Red' and lastly Onc. Twinkle 'Red Fantasy'. 'Sweet Fragrance' may have a stronger fragrance than 'Red'. Hard to tell, I think I have six total blooming right now. The twinkle has no fragrance.

Thanks for posting the comparison photo. It is very helpful.

Yours has a very nice color. How is the fragrance?
They have to make new crosses since some of the old ones have been crossed too many times. I am still looking for a dwarf that is as healthy as 'Short Sharry' and 'Sweet fragrance' and has their rich perfume. Of the five I tried my favorite is still 'Short Sharry'. The link to a photo of it I posted below looks brillinat in sunlight but becomes more drab in poor light like the others.

As you can see from the photo the leaves are not as long as a mature Sweet Fragrance but they are wider. They still get to be 10-14 inches long. The pseudobulbs are very large in water culture.

Sun rm,
I will need to repot the 'Red' this spring. Can you provide a link, source or your own method for water culture. Thanks
Charlie
