Every year, like clockwork, this beauty blooms for Christmas.I mounted it six years ago and we are both happy about it.It has recently started to spike.Last years infloresence was a little over four feet high with six branches and nearly seventy blooms total.Hopefully,it will last until the January orchid show in Grand Rapids,Mich. The steel ruler is one foot. awesome mount you did there.I have been considering something like this....How do you water and care for it?

Spray it with solution and water and then mist often.....how often?

I was thinking this would be a cool way to mount several catts

Thanks, all. The mount is a hollow piece of very old Elm I found near Interlochen,Mich. It's stuffed with moss with the top inch or so mixed with bark.Twice daily rain water misting, weekly watering with 20%msu,and sporadic drenchings[rain events] and it thinks it's in the jungle. Brad

I have this one too. Wondering how much light you have this in, and whether you do anything special to encourage it to spike. Temperature? Let it dry out? How did it do last year?

I'm looking forward to a blooming pic of this one too. Great plant, and that mount is really neat. I have a Gower Ramsey, but mine is another year or two away from blooming. (And lives in a pot... Which is probably the orchid equivalent of working in a cubicle.)

I need to find out more about the January Show in Grand Rapids. If I have any window space left in my house, I will probably go down there, as long as I am not working that day.

Nice orchid,
Dave
