Is it a species or an hybrid? In order to help you, could you please post a photography of your plant?

the easiest way to post a pic in a post is to click the attachment button above the message box. Then you can browse your files for the pix you wish to attach
It may be that you need to gradually increase the light. What levels of light does it get now? Also,it needs the temperature to drop at night 2'-3'c to set buds from the newest mature p'bulb. It looks like it is trying hard to make it for you.Good luck and welcome to OB,Brad
Your plant looks basically healthy, but perhaps does need more sunlight as suggested. If it hasn't been repotted since you got it that might be a good idea too.
its in a west facing window and its been repotted once last year into a proper orchid pot. in in rainy british columbia- would anyone suggest an artificial light ? how do i know when a psuedobulb is going to come? thanks everyone

Every new growth matures into a p'bulb.Ideally, every mature p'bulb will send up blooms.Having spent a couple winters in Vancouver and Saltspring Island, supplemental lighting would help a lot.You need to provide light for more hours than the sun provides this time of year that far north.Other than that and maybe fertilizer, your baby looks nice and healthy.
