I have a shooting star brassia that has finished blooming. Do I cut the naked spike or let it turn brown first. I know with bulbs you let the energy go back into the plant and let it brown first. Not sure with a brassia. Thanks much -Mel
I never cut any green parts, Mel. With the exception of Calcium and a few other nutrients that once fixed are unmovable, all the other nutrients the plant can and do recover before the parts turn brown, thus saving energy.
