Default Miltoniopsis Maui Charm

So I went shopping to get pots for some orchids and came home with more orchids (as well)!

Here are the other two ...
http://www.orchidboard.com/community...ce-needed.html
Dendrobium Karen

but this one is a Miltoniopsis Maui Charm (probably a trade name).

It's a large plant with 5 spikes in total. 1 spike fully open, 2 large spikes of buds and 2 small spikes nestled in the leaves. The pbulbs are also huge.

My previous attempt at growing a Miltoniopsis was not very successful (although it's still alive), but I put that down mostly to the plant having bad roots to begin with. The roots look a lot better on this one as far as I can see and it's also a lot bigger so I'm hoping it's going to do better.

Here is the whole plant and one of the larger spikes.

wow - that's gorgeous! I would've brought that home in a heartbeat

As for the name - idk, I do have a Mtda Maui Charm, so I guess that could be the correct name for yours ?

Thanks everyone.

I found out today that it has quite a strong fragrance in the morning. I came home, opened the living room door and was met with a room full of a strong floral scent. It disipated quite quickly in most of the room but remained arround the Miltoniopsis. Now in the afternoon it's a lot fainter but still there.

Nic... I tried to not buy it, I really did. But I don't have your will power

Well, who's to say whether I will have that success every time. I got the swine flu vaccine yesterday... maybe it's a side effect!!
