ok I had one before that seemed to be doing ok I guess I should have left it in the house or at least started it out in the shade. After I noticed it was getting burn spots I brought it back in I don't think it ever recovered the leaves seemed to be ok then one day all the leaves just turned yellow and died. I have decided to get another and give it another try but I am very afraid to do anything with it. Any advice as to what to do or not to do with the next one I won't have it for a few days just trying to figure out what is my game plan with this one.

I have mine growing under 50% shade cloth. It gets watered everyday in a mixture of LECA (Hydroton) and sphag... 1 part each. It gets watered everyday because it gets a ton of air movement. I'm gonna guess maybe yours got a disease. If you can't get LECA I would try getting bark with sphag and a clay orchid pot. Clay gets good air movement. I usually see them planted in plastic pots with no holes on the sides and I wonder how they haven't died already.

I have one that grows well in my office. It is in a 5" plastic pot (8 holes in the bottom of the pot) with a mix of fir bark, charcoal, and perlite. It dries quickly and needs water about every 3-4 days. It's in South-facing window that gets slightly filtered light due to a large two-story holly that sits just outside the window. I've also grown one on a screened porch that received 2 hours or so of Eastern morning sun. It grew well but never flowered under that exposure though.
