Question for the northern growers --
Are yours potted or mounted ??
What are the needed winter growing conditions ??
Next TBO if I can grow it potted inside in the winter.

Mine are growing happily in bark mix in a southern window. I water about every 5 days, give or take. I have seen them in s/h, I'm thinking about trying that one of these days.

It sure looks strange to see the blooms hanging DOWN. They are both beautiful. I love the cheerful colors.
I grow mine (10) in pots with S/H, they seem to like growing that way, and I find it so easy to know when they need water. No guessing. They just keep on blooming, one after another. I always have at least 2 or more in bloom at any given time.
I would not even consider mounting them in my growing conditions. Anything I mount, it's the kiss of death.

I have the same problem with mounts.
Would anyone like to recommend a source for Psychopsis?

I have misters that run daily on timers. I have always had a problem with potted Psychopsis because of this. You see, when potted, the spike is vertical...which makes all the old sheaths on the spike collect water. The spikes kept rotting out. I have one that had three 5' spikes.....they started rotting, so I had to cut them at about 2'. The good news is, they turned into 5 spikes....and now it grew a sixth. Anyways, by mounting them, the spikes hang downward.....and don't collect water. Also, since I have been mounting them, I really like the way the bloom just hangs there in mid-air, bobbing in the wind....as it would in situ.

I know of some sources for it, but outside the UK. Shipping will be more expensive, but it may be the only way to get one. Anyways I think you'll have to wait until spring now, unless some growers ship with heat packs. Let me know if you want some addresses.
