At the risk of resurrecting this older thread, I'm happy I figured out the strength of the search function on this program.
I have a sort or orphaned Miltonia Red Tide (I bought it on a whim and then ignored it.) I now notice it too is developing brown tips. Having read Ross' comments on this regarding other plants, I figured I was overfertilizing. Good to confirm here. I plan to flush the next 2 water periods then go to every 3 or 4 waterings for fertilizer. Also will be more diligent re. moisture, altho the only pleated leaves I have came with it.
(Other conditions. 2 1/2 feet from true east facing window, humidity tray, whole apartment humidifier keeps in excess of 55% at plants, dedicated fan for orchid area.)
