I have an alba that has this problem (actually, it's the one pictured in my avatar), I think it's just bad genes. Just like a Cattleya that stays half-closed, I guess it's one of those traits that breeders try to breed out of them. Unfortunately, I think the flowers that we have that are doing this, will probably do it for the rest of their lives. My suggestion, buy another butterfly orchid.But then again....that seems to be my answer to everything!
