Yes, it's a new leaf and developing pseudobulb.

I forgot... I'm assuming this is Psychopsis 'Mendenhal'. If it is, Psychopsis papilio has mottled leaves just like the new growth on your Psychopsis does.

Yeah, it's a new growth. Which, in my opinion, is excellent!

I think yours looks great. If I posted a pic of mine, I'd be arrested...I really messed this one up.

(quote Psychopsis papilio has mottled leaves)

I have a papilio alba with plain green leaves. Is it labeled wrong?

Oops! Yes! This is Psychopsis Mendenhall. It does have mottled leaved, but the brown on the older leaves is faded a bit (he might be getting too much light... but he's happy so who cares!)

My first Psychopsis had plain leaves though, so I do know that is normal in some varieties.

This guy also has a flower that opened up last week..... but I've taken so many pictures of flowers since he's an ever bloomer, that I thought I wouldn't need to now

I doubt it was mislabeled. Remember it's an alba form. Albas lack a lot of dark pigmentation that's present in the original form. Alba is the root for albino.

I apologize, I should've made that distinction. I forgot there were Psychopsis papilio var. albas running around.
