I use sphagnum moss for almost all of my orchids. I fill the bottom 1/2- 1/3 of the pot with styrophoam peanuts. So far I am very pleased with the results. But I like the idea of Cocunut husk fiber- it seems like it provides lots of air to the roots.

Thank you, I have been so happy with coco husk chips and there fibers. For my plants that like to have more moisture I put some CHC in the bottom of the pot then fiber and if it is one that is drying out faster then the rest I cap the top of the media with a layer of CHC. What media do you use?
