Question Brassia Rex Sakata

Being a beginner and also winning this orchid in a raffle draw, I'm at a loss as to where the blooming spikes grow from? Where should I look for flower spikes? I know, I really am a beginner, but this forum has always been so helpful, so I'm asking for help one more time. I see new growth, but not sure if they are new leaves or new spikes. They are growing from the base of the plant.

Thanks for any help as the photos I've looked at don't show the spike location.

Faz.

A new growth grows from the base of a pbulb, but a spike comes from inside the leaves, usually right beside the maturing pbulb.

I haven't had much luck with this one, I guess my place doesn't have enough light to bloom it! (and it's too big to fit under light). with yours!

I recently, FINALLY, had some luck in getting my Brs Rex 'Lynn' to bloom! She now has three spikes and is just stunning!

Here's a picture of where the spike comes from...and one of the plant:

Thanks guys for the response.....it always elps to look in the proper location. So it looks like my new growths are leaves, not spikes. Oh well, patience.....Faz.

Faz, mine did nothing for about two years! i kept changing it's location and finally found it's "happy place". It sits near a window in the orchid room that gets west sun through a tinted window and screen which totals about 30% shade.

Once I sat her there, three spikes popped up!

Try putting yours in different locations till he gets happy
