Wow, what a gorgeous plant. Spectacular! Your mom did good. I noticed another chid with beautiful blooms hanging behind the geranium.

Glad you enjoyed the picture.
Cullen is right it is an Oncidium sphacelatum.
Susanne my mother has had the original plant 30 years. She has divided it many times and given to friends.
At the moment she has 2 big plants like the one in the photo & 3 smaller ones. She grows them in charcoal.
Junebug, the other orchid you see hanging down near the geraniums is a Coelogyne densiflora.

WOW !!!! That's a beautiful display !!! Your mom must be very proud. I've got a smaller one of this guys that I got as a division from a friend and it has 2 spikes right now getting ready to bloom. The lady that gave it to me also has a big specimen. They sure look gorgeous full of blooms !!!!

MY JAW DROPPED when I saw that photo!
That's absolutely incredible! Too bad we don't have that kind of weather where I am!
I also noticed a cute Hoya in the pot next to the Onc.
I'm a fan of them, too :P
