Paul, I picked this one up in April '07 and it was just about the same size the entire time I've had it! I had it in a number of different locations but nothing ever happened with it

A few months ago, I decided to put it on a shelf I have on my work table in the orchid room. The table is up against the west wall...it doesn't really get any bright light for most of the day but in the afternoons the sun is coming right through that window. The window screen provides about 20% shade and most of the time the tinted window is also closed so that would add another 20% shade. I'd say it averages out to about 25-30% total shade against the full Florida afternoon sun from the west. If you can try to find a spot like that, maybe you can get one to bloom too!

Hope this helps

Susanne, It's a beauty, like all your plants. They are all so well grown. My Grandaughter gave me one thinking I could bring back life into a 90% dead Brassia. Didn't work.

I bought a Brsada 'Hilo Sunrise' last summer. I hope I can someday bring it into bloom. It's still alive The picture I have of it is fanstastic.

A second bloom has opened and I noticed that the first one looked somewhat longer (taller) than it did yesterday so I re-measured...seems that the lateral petals have straightened out and the total size of the bloom from top to bottom is actually 9 1/2 inches! I am really looking forward to seeing what this guy looks like when all the buds on the three spikes are open!
