Default Burrageara Kilauea 'Pacific Harvest'

This plant is a small division from last fall which happily decided to bloom this fall. The plant has alot of growing to do to reach it's flowering potential. But it was nice to get an early look at the flowers.

A question on the intergeneric name My tag reads Burr. - which is Burrageara (Cochlioda x Miltonia x Odontoglossum x Oncidium). But a RHS search does not have Burr. Kilauea But there is a Goodaleara [Gdlra.] Kilauea (Beallara Tahoma Glacier x Burr. Sanquine) which was originated and registered by W. W. Goodale Moir of Hawaii in 1/1/1983 The pentageneric Goodaleara (Brassia x Miltonia x Oncidium x Cochlioda x Odontoglossum) is named for the late Mr Moir. So I'm thinking the Goodaleara name is a fairly recent change and Burrageara is no longer the correct name for this plant

Any takers on that question

As far as I know, Burrageara and Goodaleara are still two distinct types. I think the names Burrageara is correct for your plant. While the RHS is a good tool, keep in mind that not all breeders register their new cultivars. I'm thinking that it could be the case with yours.

Smile Oncda Kilauea 'Pacific Harvest'

Oncidioda Kilauea 'Pacific Harvest', (ex Burrageara) is in bloom again on first spike. The second photo shows two more flower spikes starting. This plant has been easy to grow.

Thumbs up Kilauea update

The last two spikes have flowered. Does anyone know if the reflex petals on the flowers and the flowers tight spacing is typical of this plant? Curious if I might be able to improve on my results.
